Meet Emily Horabik
Hi I’m Emily, an Ohio native who has lived in NYC and traveled the world for over 16 years.
My grandfather always told me to travel while I was young and while I could. I have taken those words to heart and have done just that. In fact, I haven’t stopped traveling since. I try to get on a plane at least once a month!
I started Travel And Ledger in an effort to shake fellow vacationers and potential travelers out of their comfort zones. I hope to encourage you to get out there and take a shot at your dream. Maybe Paris is unattainable, but you can have just as much fun on a budget at the Eiffel Tour in Vegas!
It really is easier than it sounds! All it takes is that first step forward. I hope I inspire you to get out there and get your dream!

How I Came Up With The Name...
Growing up, I always had a curiosity to see the world. If I didn’t have a book in my hand, you would find me sitting in front of the TV watching travel shows and dreaming of adventure.
I’ve always had a vivid imagination and have been writing my stories down since I was little. I decided to merge my love of vacationing and my love of writing together to inspire others to take more getaways – and that’s how I came up with Travel And Ledger.
Fun Fact:
I've had a Starbucks in almost every city I've been to. Coffee makes me happy!

Top Questions I Get Asked...
What's the best city to go to for a first time traveler?
I would have to say Las Vegas. It is the kind of city that offers you anything you want to experience. Plus, this city is really safe and the casinos have cameras everywhereeeee.
- Do you want to sight see? Plenty of places!
- Good food? Can you say Buffets!
- Nightlife, Daylife, all the lives can be found here.
You can also do the city for very cheap and it’s really easy to get around. AND, you don’t have to gamble which is a common misconception!
What do you always bring with you on vacation?
Here’s my top things I bring..
- I always get cold on the plane and in the airport so I bring a sweatshirt.
- SPF Chapstick! It helps to prevent sunburn while in the pool too!
- A bikini… I’m always trying to get some sun.
- Sunglasses – the sun follows you everywhere even in the cold.
- A journal to write down memories and the information of interesting people I meet. Not everyone has social media, but most people have email.
