Tools & Resources

HERE ARE MY TOP TOOLS AND RESOURCES I USE FOR VACATIONING...

I use most of these Tools,  Resources, and Companies almost every time I travel. These are my favorite travel girl tools and resources. Know that I will only ever recommend what I have used and enjoyed myself! Some things I have even created myself.

These are not sponsored posts, I just want to share with you that there really are a lot of sources at your disposal (and a lot of them are FREE!)

Some of these links are affiliate links and, at no cost to you, I may earn a small commission that helps run this website — keeping it free for all to use!

WEBSITES FOR BUDGET VACATIONERS

thepointsguy.com

The Points Guy is known for mastering credit card points and perks. He travels a lot, so he always has a grin and the latest travel news regarding airports and airplanes.

kayak.com

Kayak is the search engine I use most when searching for flights. They let you set up a travel alert and will email you the minute flight prices drop on the date you enter.

cheapcaribbean.com

CheapCaribbean is the best place to find that all inclusive trip you have been dreaming about. They do a great job of informing you of exactly what you will get with your package. They also have great customer service.

skiplagged.com

Skiplagged is great for the budget traveler. They find loopholes in airfare pricing that saves you money. I usually only use it when I am in a bind. You can usually find a last minute trip or layover city that is affordable. They have saved me a lot, especially when flying during holiday season!

airbnb.com

AirBnB has been amazing for my group trips. We saved so much money and we were always way more comfortable! It's fun to all stay up late together comfortably and not try to cram into one hotel room to hang out (and then all divide up to separate rooms on different floors afterwards.) With AirBnB you can get your own house!

tripadvisor.com

Tripadvisor is a must before going anywhere. Sometimes, the way a location advertises itself is not the way it actually looks. Tripadvisor always tells it like it is. I tend to use it to know exactly where to stay to have the best experience (down to the room # and floor.)

MY BOOKS & JOURNALS

PRODUCTS FOR TRAVEL GIRLS

I like to bring two of these for added security when I travel alone. It gives me an extra sense of safety. I bring two because sometimes there’s a large gap under the door (especially at resorts.)

This comes in handy at the casino,  but I also use it to help me budget. I leave the key in the room and whatever goes in stays in until I get back to the room.

Shutterfly makes it super easy to get your pictures off of your phone and into print. I usually use it for gifts for my travel buddies and put our top memories into a photobook. AND, they are super cheap when you use their emailed coupons!

I’ve had my card info scanned and stolen before. It sucks! These days people walk about even scanning at the airport! This will keep your cards safe!

This is my go-to for tanning. I get the greatest color bronze with it. Use it in addition to your regular SPF until you have your base tan.

I like to use something like this when I travel. I often travel with a backpack so I keep my purse in my backpack. This makes it easy to reach anything I need during security and the boarding process. The fact it holds your boarding pass is key.

Bath & Body Works is my go to stop for all things lotion and hand sanitizer! They always have ridiculous sales and crazy coupons. They area always giving members free travel sized items so you know I love them for that!

Hawaiian Tropics has such vacationy fragrances! I use them even when I’m not on vacation just because the smell takes me back to vacay. They make a super soothing lotion to use after you are in the sun. It’s great for sunburn. They also have this travel size that’s TSA approved. Did I mention how good they smell!

APPS I ALWAYS USE

Duolingo is such a cool app! You can learn conversational languages in in almost every language for free!

Canva is my favorite app to use to edit my photos before I post on social media.

PicPlayPost is awesome for editing your pics, making collages, and videos! It's super easy to use.

Venmo is awesome when you are traveling with a group. Instead of splitting checks or bills 6 ways, just keep all the receipts and charge everyone at the end of the trip or after each purchase.

Waze is a great tool to use when you are not familiar with the area or even if you are. They do a great job of telling you exactly what's ahead of you regarding accidents, traffic jams, or even faster routes due to construction.

I use Uber all the time. I like to know exactly how much my ride is going to be before I get into the cab. I also like the added security factors they have built in.
