The Best (Easy) Poses For Pictures This Fall

Fall is probably the best season for pictures! The brightly colored leaves make the perfect backdrop and the gourds and pumpkins make for an endless supply of props. That being said, it can still be hard to think of a way to pose with them in the moment so I figured I’d give you ladies my cheat sheet. Here are my favorites and best (easy) poses for pictures this fall.

I’ll be showing you the raw pictures before crops or edits, so you can get an idea of the shots I took before posting on the gram. If you know in advance what platform you are going to post to (like Instagram), go ahead and preset your camera to those dimensions (like the square shape for Instagram feed posts and/or longer for IG Stories)! It will save you a lot of time. But, if you’re like me, and plan on posting to more than one platform, take a raw photo and you can crop for all platforms at a later date. (I use Canva to easily re-purpose and resize all of my content.)

Whichever poses you choose to do, make sure you take multiple shots of the same pose. With the Fall winds, you never really can tell if your hair is in your face or your eyes are closed until after you look more closely at them. It’s better to take a few than to take just one and lose the shot.

This is a trend that was big this summer – with watermelon. People wore watermelon hats and dresses, all kinds of shapes, so why not do it for Fall too?

I like to look for different dance poses because to me leaves remind me of tutus.

What Makes It Easy– With all the different shapes of leaves, you should be able to find something that will work for you.

The reason I have it listed as the hardest is because it’s hard to get both you and your prop in focus. I tried it with a pine cone too but I feel like that one was a fail. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This one is really easy. In the Fall, there are leaves everywhere so just make your own pile. You can always throw the leaves in the air while you are laying down to help make it look like there are more leaves around you than there are.

What Makes It Easy – You don’t need an actual pile of leaves. You can collect all of the same color off the ground. If you take a close shot, it will look like you are laying in a pile.

For this Fall pose, the key is to stand to the side of the picture. You want the scenery to take the main focus. Because of this, you don’t even have to show your face. You can do an over the shoulder shot, an action shot, or anything that you want.

What Makes It Easy – Fall has some of the most amazing scenery. You can go just about anywhere and get a good shot. (This is legit a field of dead grass, but it looks so beautiful with the Fall colors!)

TRICK: If you come out better than the sky, you can use Canva’s effect that takes away the background, you can then layer in a pretty sky shot!

You may think that this is the easiest of poses… but it isn’t! Because.. it’s not just about posing with a pumpkin.. it’s about doing the right pose with the right pumpkin.

Work your angles – think of the camera as a square (that’s easy to do with a phone) and angle your face and body towards the top left, top right, bottom right, and bottom left on both sides of your body. This way you catch all your angles. One of them will compliment you and make the pic come out good

What Makes It Easy – If you’re in the right spot, which is almost everywhere during Fall, it’s really easy to find a pumpkin.. they are everywhere girl!

Girls, this one is a super easy shot. Just lean over and smile, or even just look down. Grab two pumpkins and get your shot.

What Makes It Easy – You don’t need a fancy background for this shot. You can even do it from your own home. Just grab your props, strike that pose, and rack in the ‘likes.’

There’s all kinds of timber and pumpkins lying around for you to lift and get that fitness shot of. I ended up doing a workout video routine with these logs on my IG Story.

Why It’s Easy – Fall tends to be cool so it makes it easy for you to be outside for long periods of time lifting things without breaking a sweat.

It’s football season! Now you have a new pose to post every Sunday. Make it fun and add a pumpkin or even pose with a football. Anything with a football and a couple fallen leaves always feels Fall to me.

What Makes It Easy – Football has a ton of it’s own poses so feel free to steal them for your shots. (Like me “sprinting for that pumpkin pie.” Click here for other Fall caption ideas.)

This is another easy pose where you can rely on your surroundings. If you plan your outfit right and find the right colored flower, your picture will really pop.

What Makes It Easy – If you’re looking for a specific color, you can just buy one at the grocery store. They come in all colors so it’s easy to get one that matches your outfit and do a “he loves me, he loves me not” pose.

This pose is one of the Best (Easy) Poses For Pictures This Fall because you don’t even have to be looking at the camera. You somehow automatically look smart and thoughtful.

What Makes It Easy – This pose/picture is one that you can use for any kind of caption. It works for a quote, for food, for fitness, just about any category of captions.

This pose is my all time favorite pose to do in the Fall! It’s super easy, almost the easiest! Grab two matching leaves and make a face!

What Makes It Easy – You can do this pose anywhere and it’s actually really original. Not many girls do it! The nice thing about it is you can change your shirt and make it look like you are in different locations!

This is the second best and easiest pose for pictures this Fall 2020 because you don’t even have to show your face. The pumpkins with cover you up. Just put on a cute shade of lipstick, do your nails, and snap away!

What Makes It So Easy – You don’t need an outfit for this one. You can do a close up and let the pumpkins be the main focus. You can use gourds, you can use apples, you can use almost anything that’s round with a stem, they all look like eyeballs!

You’ve made it to number one – the shy pose! This is the best (easy) pose for pictures this Fall because you don’t even have to show your face. If you’re somewhere crowded, you can hide your mask with leaves. You can hide your face with a pumpkin and just show off your outfit. Just grab something and put it in front of your face, don’t think too much about it, and have fun!

What Makes It So Easy – You don’t even have to wear make up if you don’t want to. You can take this pic on the fly and just strike a pose.
