Las Vegas Pool Season - What to expect!

Who is ready to jump into a Vegas pool? Wait! Before you do, make sure you read this! I am going to tell you all about pool season in Las Vegas to make sure you don’t end up standing in line (yes some pools have lines) at the wrong pool! I want you to end up at the right pool for you!

Depending on what kind of vibe you want to have will really determine which pool you should go to and what casino to stay at. It really depends mostly on how far you want to travel from your room while wearing a bikini.

For example, if you want to stay at the Luxor, but you want to party it up, you could stay at the Luxor and meet a promoter who can get you into a day party at another casino like EBC or pay for a day pass to Mandalay Bay’s Beach complex. On the other hand, The Luxor’s pool is huge with a very chill vibe which could be a great location to stay if you DON’T want to party every day.

So, keep in mind just because you stay somewhere doesn’t mean that is the only pool experience you are going to have while you are in Vegas. You can always travel to another casino’s pool to party. Also, just because you are staying at a casino DOES NOT mean you get to go to the pool party area for free. Pools that host parties will have a separate area for the pool party and a separate area for guests. Guests are always permitted in the guest area of the pool when you show your room key. Either way, there is just no escaping the pumping base of the party if it’s a pool party casino so keep that in mind. You will probably be able to hear the music from your room as well if you face the pool area.

Almost every casino’s pool will have some sort of day party going on. Drinks right now range from starting at $10 for a beer to starting at $25 for a cocktail. Day clubs or night swims may be even more than that.

Pool parties in Las Vegas will have a DJ certain days of the week that will be pumping up the crowd. However, in this section I am talking the day clubs where people come in from all over to see headliner DJs. Some casinos will have guest DJs while other casinos have resident DJs who will be there every week.

These events will charge for you to get in. At somewhere like the Luxor, they may only charge you $10 for the pool party area but if you go to EBC you could be paying $75 or more depending on the DJ! So, again.. promoters promoters promoters! Get on that guest list girl!

The dress code is usually pretty laid back for day clubs. The main thing is that you must be wearing swim wear. Feel free to dress up in a cute cover up and sandal-ed heels or keep it low key and wear shorts and a tank. It’s really up to you.

las vegas pool parties explained

They will allow small bags and yes you can bring in sunscreen. Just keep in mind they DO check all bags and will not permit in large bags or book bags at most venues. Don’t worry about packing a towel or anything like that. These parties are just like any other Vegas pool. They provide towels and keep a look out for a water station. ALL CASINOS HAVE ONE. You shouldn’t have to pay for water! If you do it will be a fancy water bottle and cost you almost the same price as an alcoholic beverage. No joke!

Day Clubs want you to pay for seating so be prepared to find a little ledge or a locker to keep your stuff while you are in the pool. Any area around seating or VIP will not permit you to put your things nearby so be prepared to pay to sit.

AND just to warn you about Vegas pools… you won’t see many people leaving the water unless they go to get a drink… so… yeah. The water gets pretty cloudy after a while. Earlier is better to have your fun in the pool. Once the main headliner comes on, I’d stay away from full water submerging! It also tends to become a sausage fest of guys splashing each other to the beat. You can always cool off at one of the outdoor showers that are located around the pool after the real party starts!

In terms of the scene, Day Clubs are the most popular right now in Vegas. It is going to be a blast whoever you decide to go see. Check out Electronic Vegas for a complete list of all the the different DJs in town so you know which pools to target when looking for a promoter.

A couple of the pool parties pull the biggest crowds so the big DJs tend to be found here… but don’t worry about “getting stuck” going to the same pool twice! It’s going to feel like a different vibe every time you go because each DJ has their own flair!

Best Day Clubs: Encore Beach Club (EBC), Tao Beach, AYU Dayclub, & Wet Republic

night swim las vegas

Night swims are only available at a few venues on select days of the week.

The dress code is dress to impress, but unlike day clubs, swimwear is encouraged but not enforced. You will see both girls in dresses and heels and also see club-like cover ups and girls in the pool.

They only allow small bags. (No sunscreen at night.) These parties still provide towels but the water station will no longer be set up.

All of the seating will have been removed to make room for dancing. If you want a seat VIP is going to be your only option or on the edge of the pool.

AND again to warn you about Vegas pools… you won’t see many people leaving the water unless they go to get a drink… so… yeah this is also the second party of the day. I’ll let that sink in.

In terms of the scene, you probably won’t see as many people in the pool during Night Swims. Don’t feel pressured to wear swimwear. It feels just like any other club after a while, except you get to be next to the water. Speaking of – watch for guys who think it’s funny to push you in.

Best Night Swims: Drais, Marquee, & Encore Beach Club

I’m going to be completely honest with you… every pool is completely different! Lately pools have been opening around 9am and closing by 5 or 6pm (unless it’s a club.)

Even at the pools that have day clubs, there is also an area for regular guests just looking to chill out. Here are some examples of the best places to go for the vibe you are looking for…

All in one pool – Mandalay Bay Beach Complex… They have a wave pool, lazy river, beach area, and a number of pools with plenty of free seating, they also have an adults only area that has a pool party vibe as well as a day club.

Biggest Pools on the Las Vegas Strip (besides Mandalay Bay) – Luxor, Mgm Grand, Caesars, The Venetian, & Cosmopolitan

Plenty of FREE seating with a chill vibe – Luxor, Excalibur, New York New York, Mirage, & Paris

Smaller Intimate Pools – The Linq & Harrahs

Pool with a party vibe but not the party cover charge – Flamingo

Pools with lazy rivers – Mandalay Bay & Mgm Grand

Full on water park – Circus Circus

Rooftop Pools in Las Vegas – Resorts World, Paris, Planet Hollywood, Cromwell, Cosmopolitan, & The Linq

For the Day Clubs or the Night Swim, you will need a promoter to get into these parties for free, so keep an eye out for them on The Strip. They will be hanging out in front of the casino or in high volume areas. They are pretty easy to spot. They’ll have on the DJ’s shirt or sport the club’s name that the party is at.
