Fall Photoshoots - How To Make Bulk Content

Let me give it to you straight… social media is tricking you. NO ONE TAKES A PIC EVERY DAY! There are so many apps (like Later) that allow you to plan your posts in advance. This is the secret the successful influencers and businesses won’t tell you that they do! They use their time wisely and take advantage of technology. They make a batch of content, plan out their posts for the week, and mostly sit back and let the apps post for them. I’m here to share the secret and show you just how to do a Fall photoshoot, and even better, how to make bulk content that you can use to post for the whole month.

Here’s a breakdown of your tools to help you make a batch of content that makes it look like you are at more than one location and took pictures on more than one day…

props for fall photoshoot travelandledger

Fall is full of props. Think of anything Fall and bring it with you to your location or go somewhere that has all these things already! For this shoot, I went to Patterson’s Fruit Farm. Something like a fruit farm has all the props you could possibly need.

Here’s some ideas for Fall props that they have at their farm.

  • Pumpkins
  • Gourds
  • Candy Apples
  • Hay
  • Corn Field
  • Apple Cider Donut
  • Hot Apple Cider

You can do a number of shots and make it look like a different day or place just by changing your look. The easiest way to change your look is to start with a base neutral outfit and change your shirt. Layer up with a jacket or hoodie, add a vest, get creative… anything works.

Start with this base for your photoshoot. This is going to be instrumental in how to make bulk content for your Fall photoshoot. Everything will build off of this base.

What you’ll need…

  • Start with your hair done however you prefer it down. You won’t be able to carry around a curling iron or anything so you will want to get these shots first before your curls blow out in the Fall winds.
  • Wear a spaghetti strap tank top. It will be easy to layer on top of this without the tank showing in your shot.
  • You’re going to need a strapless bra. It will be easier to get that over-the-shoulder-shot and slide a strap down to make it look like a different outfit, or even that you aren’t wearing a shirt if you want to go for an artistic shot.
  • Neutral Nailpolish is a must for this shoot. If you are wearing bright orange nailpolish and doing close up shots with your hands, it will be more obvious that you did the shoot all in a day.
  • Neutral Pants will ensure that they just blend into the shot.

It’s Fall, so most eyes will be focused on the pumpkin you’re holding or the amazing landscape behind you. This sort of base outfit will ensure there is nothing pulling the focus of the eye. Wearing neutral colors also creates a great base that will help your props and flair pop. It’s easy to layer – throw on a jacket or different top over a small tank top. It also ensures you can change in public and not be in just your bra trying to hide behind a tree. If you’re going to be wearing dresses, you can follow the same concept with a small tank and bike shorts under it.

accessories for fall photoshoots travelandledger

Accessories are a great way to add flair to your shoot. You can transform yourself into a new person just with the use of the right accessories. They are a great tool for how to make bulk content. Imagine just how different you would look wearing each of the above looks. They fit easily into your bag and are easy to transport without much effort. No need to carry around a suitcase full of “looks” when you can just change your hair and an accessory to look totally different.

A different hairstyle mixed with a different shirt will help to make your photos look like a different location. The right hairstyle can even make it look warm out or colder.

Play around with different hairstyles throughout your shoot. You can do curls, updo, ponytail, and braids just to name a few. Depending on your hair, do them in order of flatness. For me, I start with my hair down and curled (as soon as the wind blows it starts to go flat), then I do some straight hair shots, then some ponytail shots, then some updo pics, and I finish with braids. Everyone’s hair is different. Go with whatever order works best for your hair.

This one is a HUGE factor in picture taking. You could wear the same black shirt the whole time and no one will notice that you have been in the same outfit the whole time because they will be so focused on your face and lips!

The right flair can really add something to your picture. Is it chilly out? Wear some finger-less gloves. Want to go for a rustic look? Grab a saddlebag purse. Is the wind blowing? Play with a scarf and make it blow in the wind.

Here’s some of my go-tos…

  • Brimmed hat
  • Beanie
  • Scarf
  • Saddle bag
  • Bright colored purse
  • Finger-less gloves

A variety of different poses with different backgrounds will help make your feed look more interesting. You can take a picture next to the barn, next to the lake, in a field, on a trail, almost anywhere can look like a different location. Just stay away from backgrounds with wording. Yes, I was at Patterson’s Fruit Farm and I took all these pics there, but you don’t need to know that.

However, I again reiterate that it is Fall, so the scenery and props will always take the focus. Don’t be nervous or be overly conscious when taking your pics. Almost every pose is a good pose in the Fall.. sometimes even if your hair is in your face or your eyes are closed. (It looks more real and like you’re a real person.)

Seriously, check out these pics and what spoke to your first? I guarantee it was the scenery, the prop, or the fact I’m holding a woolly bear caterpillar.

Did you even notice I have the same base outfit on and the only thing that changed was my shirt and earrings? Of course now you do because I told you, but otherwise, they just look like a bunch of poses.

Here’s some of my favorite go-to poses…

  • Leaf ears.
  • Pumpkin eyes.
  • Shy hide behind something pose.
  • Pick up a prop and smile.

If you’re still nervous about striking poses… check out my article where I go into detail of the best easy poses for Fall.
